Mayo Day 2015 is a global celebration organised by Mayo.ie which takes place on Saturday 2 May for the very first time and will be staged every year on the first Saturday in Mayo. Its aim is to reconnect the estimated 9.3million Mayo Diaspora around the globe in getting them to celebrate their beloved West of Ireland county in their own corner of the globe.

Mayo Day organiser Martina Hughes from Mayo.ie added “Mayo Day has really caught the imagination of the Mayo Day Diaspora around the globe. I know that Mayo Manchester in the UK have already planned their gala concert. They launched the countdown in front of 75,000 Manchester United and Liverpool football fans at Old Trafford with Cillian O’Connor the award winning Mayo GAA player and newly appointed assistant captain of the Mayo team.
