International Men’s Health Week 2015

International Men's Health Week runs from Monday 15th June to Sunday 21st June this year and as always, Áras Inis Gluaire will be proudly supporting it. The theme for 2015 in Ireland is: 'Creating culture change - it's time for a new script'.

“New research from the Marie Keating Foundation shows one in five men in Ireland cannot identify any of the visual signs of skin cancer.” We welcome the Foundation to Belmullet this year as part of International Men’s Health Week. Their mobile unit which provides a ‘Free Community Information Service’- on all types of cancer- will be parked outside Áras Inis Gluaire from 3.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday 15th June with a nurse advisor on board. No appointment necessary.

Phil Keating will then be presenting their new ‘Spot the Difference’ Skin Cancer Campaign at 7.15pm in Áras Inis Gluaire. This Public Information Event is free & open to all members of the community.

Following on from this at 7.45pm we have Michelle Healy hosting a free taster session for all men interested in a ‘Joint Mobility & Strength’ Class. Come along and try it out!

Refreshments will be served and there will be information available on the Men’s Shed & Men on the Move programmes in operation locally.
